Guidelines on the use of the library and its collections/materials
The facilities, resources and services of Claret School - Instructional Media Center is open to:
· Enrolled students of Claret School
· Administrators
· School Personnel (Teaching and Non-Teaching)

Depository area
- Students should leave their bags and other things at the Depository Area (inside the cabinet, near the entrance). Students can bring with them their valuables such as their laptop, wallet, etc. inside the library.
Borrowing and returning of books
- Bonafide students, administrators and school personnel (teaching and non-teaching) are required to have a barcoded ID that serves as an IMC card. They must present their school ID at the librarian in charge of the Circulation Section, every time they need to borrow a material from the library. Use of other person's ID card for borrowing of books on behalf of another person is strictly prohibited.
- Grades 1 and 2 may borrow one easy book for three days, and Grade 3 students can borrow two easy books for three days.
- From Grades four to twelve , students may borrow three books at a time (two fiction and one nonfiction, two nonfiction and one fiction, or three nonfiction).
- Borrowing of print materials for home use is SUSPENDED on the following seasons:
· Foundation Day
· Christmas break
· Examination week
· Christmas break
· Examination week
Hence, all borrowers should return all borrowed items atleast ONE WEEK before the said seasons.
Book renewal
- Books may not be kept longer than one week, but may be renewed for another week if not in demand.
Lost/Overdue books
- Immediately report the matter on the librarian in charge of the Circulation Section. Lost book/s must be replaced with a book/s of the same title or similar subject matter.
- Fine for an overdue book is Php 1.00 a day.
Use and handling of library materials
- All newspapers, magazines and other periodicals, as well as general reference books (e.g. encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, atlas, etc.) must be read only inside the library.
- All print materials should be handled with care to preserve them in good condition and to prolong their use.
- Chairs and library materials should be returned properly to their respective places after use.
Behavior inside the library
- Silence and courtesy must be observed at all times. Students who talk and make unnecessary noise will be asked to leave the facility immediately.
- Eating, drinking, running, and shouting are not allowed inside the library.
Interactive Station
- Silence must be observed in the Interactive Station.
- Students need to register at the computer upon entering the Interactive Station.
- Internet shall be used for RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY and is avaialble for use as scheduled:
· Recess
· Lunch break
· After class hours/Dismissal
· Lunch break
· After class hours/Dismissal
- Printing schedule is from 3.00 pm - 4.45 pm (except from the week/one week before the periodical examination wherein students can print during recess, lunch break and dismissal).
- Printing charge is P5.00 per page.
- Watching/viewing of non-educational videos and websites (especially those containing violence, adult content) are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED.
